Hip-Hop Has A New Green Home

After August, the Bay Area will not be the same again. Hip-Hop will not be the same again. The green movement will not be the same again. Why, well they will all come together into one beautiful Green Youth Media Center. As Grind for the Green such an edifice is the perfect metaphor for the work we seek to duplicate throughout the planet. We are really honored to be part of this development with beautiful sister organizations Art in Action and Weapon, Urban Peace Movement and Weapons of Mass Expression amongst others. Through a wonderful grant from the Peapod Foundation, which is The Black Eye Peas’ non profit, we are now able to forge ahead an concretize a much needed intention on 28th and Telegraph. This all sustainable center will house programs designed to empower youth by giving them the tools needed to make their musical dreams a reality. Also it will immerse them in a space that will inspire them to live their lives in a more ecologically sound manner. This new development is extremely exciting for us because the dawn of a new regenerative and fruitful era is upon us. An era that will make it easy … to be green.
